Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

We do not use consent-requiring cookies

No consent banner appears on this site because we do not set any non-essential cookies on your device. A consent banner is only required when a website stores non-essential cookies or tracking on your device before you agree to them — and we don’t do that.

Analytics

Our website analytics are cookieless: nothing is stored on your device to measure visits. We collect anonymised, aggregated data about page traffic without identifying you or your device.

Advertising and cross-site tracking

We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.

Maps

Some charity pages include an optional map powered by Google Maps. The map loads only if you click “Show map” — nothing from Google is set on your device until you actively choose to view it. Once you do, we save that choice in your browser’s local storage (“fac_maps_consent”) so you don’t have to click again on other pages. This only remembers your preference; it is not used to track you.

Essential storage

On a normal visit the public site sets no cookies at all. The only strictly necessary storage is a small record of the current search (kept in your browser so returning from a charity page restores your results) and, for site administrators only, a login cookie on the admin area. None of this requires consent under UK PECR.

How to control cookies

  • Simply don’t click “Show map” — then no Google cookies are ever set.
  • You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop you using the site, though you may need to click “Show map” again.

Changes

If our use of cookies changes in the future, we will update this page and, where required by law, add a consent mechanism before any non-essential cookies are set.
