Renal patients have up to 50 times the risk of death from cardiovascular disease than the normal population. Expenditure is therefore currently focused on the cardiovascular system in patients with renal disease, renal failure, dialysis and renal transplantation. This work has made significant contributions to both understanding and treating these conditions.
