Montrose LandxSea Film Festival SCIO is set up to advance environmental protection, education, and the arts by increasing public understanding of environmental and social issues through film and related cultural activity. The charity delivers an annual environmental film festival in Montrose, alongside year-round screenings, discussions, and community events. Through curated documentary and independent films, filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions, and workshops, LandxSea creates opportunities for learning, dialogue, and civic engagement around climate and social justice issues. The charity works in partnership with local, national, and international organisations to connect global environmental stories with local context and practical action. It prioritises accessibility and inclusion by offering free and subsidised events, schools and youth programmes, and activities designed to reduce economic and geographic barriers to participation, particularly in rural and coastal communities.
