About

The Forres Community First Responders (FCFR) was formed in early 2024 by Mark Thompson. Mark Thompson has 10 years Coastguard experience and is actively involved in Ardersier Community First Responders. He is ex-military and still works for the Ministry of Defence at Lossiemouth Airfield. As such, he has an excellent view of the demographics and geography of the Moray area along with a strong ability to motivate both ex-military and civilian persons of all backgrounds. The Scottish Ambulance Service trains first responders to attend emergencies ahead of the ambulance. This ensures care can be received quicker and that a defibrillator and oxygen arrives at the point of care as quickly as possible. The Scottish Ambulance Service provides of basic equipment and zero defibrillators. The area covered by the FCFR is as far as Duffus up to Nairn. The ongoing training is facilitated by a qualified First Aid trainer who utilises the team’s experience.
