Sandness Community Development works on behalf of the local community to improve services and the lived environment, to improve the quality of life for residents of Sandness, and facilities for visitors to the area. We regularly consult with residents to identify needs and a focus for action. We seek funding to run activities, provide services and tackle issues. In the last year we have provided a bus service for the community, especially young people for afterschool activities. hosted workshops for residents to learn about endangered species and improving natural habitats. coordinated fresh fish deliveries for residents. provided regular social events, and are project managing the process of community ownership of the local pier.
