About

SMILE Children’s Charity supports children with disabilities, complex needs and serious illness, and their families across Scotland. The charity was founded by lived-experience parents who recognised a need for respite and support to reduce isolation, create inclusive opportunities and improve family wellbeing. We do this by providing tailored community-based support including access to family wellbeing, peer connection and practical assistance. We also offer short breaks, family events and programmes supporting carers’ mental health and resilience. All services are shaped by families themselves to ensure they meet real need and provide meaningful, lasting impact.
