We will actively address the prevention and relief of poverty by implementing comprehensive financial support programs tailored to mitigate the economic challenges associated with mental health issues. Recognizing that individuals facing mental health challenges often encounter financial burdens due to treatment costs and related expenses, we are committed to collaborating with welfare services, Citizens' Advice Bureau, churches, and other agencies to identify and assist those in need. Our application process will include a thorough assessment, taking into account circumstances such as awaiting the outcome of a benefit appeal, experiencing sanctions by the DWP, or earning a low income. For instance, we envision creating partnerships with local businesses to provide job opportunities for individuals undergoing mental health challenges, thus addressing the root causes of poverty.
