The Arches Arts & Creative Hub

The charity aims to provide an inclusive arts and creative hub for the community of Hawick and the Scottish Borders. The board has been seeking a suitable building in Hawick to serve this purpose. A property owned but no longer used by the local authority was identified as suitable premises. The property was inspected, refurbishment plans drawn up and costed, a business plan developed and a Community Asset Transfer (CAT) request was submitted in September 2025 The outcome of the CAT request was undecided as at 30th November 2025. The board is also considering alternative premises and engaging with the community to gather input from potential user groups and the public.
