Edinburgh Malayalee Samajam (EMS) is set up to promote cultural heritage, social inclusion, and community wellbeing, while advancing charitable purposes for the public benefit. We support the Malayalee community in Edinburgh and the wider Scottish community by fostering integration, mutual understanding, and social cohesion. We achieve our aims by organising cultural, social, and wellbeing activities such as traditional festivals, community celebrations, and sports events that encourage participation, volunteering, and healthy lifestyles. These activities help preserve cultural traditions, strengthen community bonds, and reduce social isolation. EMS also raises funds through events, and any surplus generated is applied towards charitable purposes, including supporting education, welfare, and eligible charitable causes. We work collaboratively with other organisations and charities where appropriate, ensuring responsible use of funds and compliance with charitable objectives.
