Our core project is Community Transport to connect older people in and around Eastern Perthshire to enable them live the life they want. We connect older people who cannot access public transport i.e. people with mobility challenges and disabilities ranging from wheelchair users, deaf, blind,, mental health issues and age related issues. We help to break down the barriers and inequalities older people face in the community in connecting to the things that matter to them including socialising. Our services are underpinned by a preventative approach to addressing isolation and loneliness. We have a large client base of over 750 and our services are operated by the power of volunteering. Our volunteer drivers pick up clients, take them to their appointments (or other activities) and take them home again. The service is very much appreciated by the people it helps. Without such a service many disabled people would simply not be able to go out.
