The charity is established to fund PhD projects and studentships at Scottish universities in the fields of medicine, climate, sustainability and life sciences, with a particular emphasis on (but not restricted to) the provision of studentships for individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, and to assist those students with living expenses while they are engaged in those projects and studentships. It does so through the provision of grants or donations to others.
