About

The St Andrews Film Festival is a charity set up to deliver an annual international film festival and competition in St Andrews, Scotland. Its purpose is to showcase outstanding independent films that might not otherwise be seen locally, while creating opportunities for cultural exchange, education, and community engagement through cinema. We do this by curating film screenings, competitions, filmmaker Q&As, workshops, masterclasses, and public events that bring together audiences, students, local residents, and visiting filmmakers. The Festival also acts as a hub where industry professionals, emerging creatives, and semi-professional filmmakers can connect, share ideas, and build future collaborations, including co-productions. Through this work, the charity supports Scottish film culture while fostering a global creative community rooted in dialogue, learning, and inclusion.
