Hidden Door exists to open up new urban spaces for emerging and early career artists, musicians, theatre makers, film makers and spoken word artists based in Scotland, as a platform for new projects and ideas, showcasing new work and creating engaging environments for the public to experience, explore and discover. Hidden Door operates on a unique volunteer-led model, with a core team of dedicated individuals overseeing the planning and execution of its events. This enables us to be ambitious, agile and source skills and expertise beyond what otherwise might be available to us. Through our signature event, our annual Hidden Door Festival, we have transformed 11 stunning spaces into exciting and immersive sites in Edinburgh since 2014, enabling visitors to discover new creative talent across a range of art forms, while providing paid work for over 3,000 artists and performers.
