The organisation's purposes are:4.1 the advancement of education by encouraging public engagement in local history, especially in connection to the former Peterhead Prison. and 4.2 the advancement of arts, culture and heritage through the preservation and maintenance of the Peterhead Prison Museum and the lifeboat museum preserving and commemorating the work of the 'Julia Park Barry' of Glasgow Lifeboat.
