Inspiring Life: Evie Douglas Memorial Fund

About

Our charity is set up to raise awareness of mental health and well being and to donate money to individuals and groups who promote this in our community. In this financial year we raised awareness by organising events in our local theatre : Inspiring Life, brought our community together to enjoy in a series of free workshops promoting good physical and mental health including, dance ,literature, drama, music, sound therapy, and art therapy. We collaborated with local groups and charities e.g. See Me and Borders Recovery Cafe. We fundraised by holding a pub quiz, baked for our Christmas Fair as part of a Depressed Cakes project, and organised a cafe for See Me's Walk A Mile event. We also received many generous donations from local businesses, Easy Fundraising and JustGiving. We sourced grants from Scottish Borders Action Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund and were able to support the writing and presentation of a wonderful play about Andy's Mansclub .
