The charity’s charitable purposes are:·to promote and facilitate public participation in the sport of Scottish Coastal Rowing.·to develop members’ skill and technique in the sport of Scottish Coastal Rowing.·to stimulate healthy competition by means of races, regattas or other organised events.·to promote exploration and adventure through rowing expeditions and travels.·to promote coastal rowing as a healthy activity, which can be done safely by people of all ages at a level suited to their competence, experience and fitness. The club organises coastal rowing outings from our base in Portobello in our two skiffs Skelf(launched in December 2015) and Sprite (launched in May 2018). We run regular weekly rotas for outings to which members can sign-up(through the website Teamer.net). Members are also free to organise their own outings at other times. During the summer, the club attends a variety of coastal rowing regattas around Scotland and occasionally further afield.
