About

Close the Gap is Scotland’s expert policy advocacy organisation working on women’s labour market participation. We carry out a range of activity which contributes to achieving our strategic objective of women’s workplace equality. We work with a broad range of partners and stakeholders to influence and enable action that will address the causes of women’s labour market inequality. This includes developing guidance, tools, research and resources for employers, policymakers, unions, and members of the public so they better understand why women experience poorer labour market outcomes than men, and what needs to happen to change this. We also work with policymakers to advocate for the gendering of policies that relate to women's labour market participation including economy, childcare and skills.
