About

The purpose of Britannia Sailing Trust is to preserve the centenarian sailing ship Britannia and to promote Britain's maritime heritage to a wider audience. We also pass on endangered heritage skills to a new generation of potential boatbuilders and seafarers. Currently Britannia's restoration is providing a training platform for young and old alike. Our focus is on Skills, Heritage, Young People, Community and Marine Conservation. We hold activities on Exeter's East Quay for a minimum of 3 days a week, welcoming volunteers to support the project either working 'hands on' on the ship, or behind the scenes in various roles such as fundraising, marketing and event management. We provide work experience to students school age and beyond.
