The Field Group (Duddingston)

The charity is set up to manage an area of land 'Duddingston Field' (or 'the Field') that is owned by the City of Edinburgh Council, separated from Holyrood Park by a stone wall. It aims to benefit visitors and local residents walking through the Field, to enhance wildlife, and for the public to learn and apply skills in habitat management. It does this by having regular work days where volunteers manage the network of paths, plant trees, prune the orchard and maintain the grassland, and by regular events such as the annual 'Apple Day' where the various apple varieties are made available to sample.
