About

The Charity supports individuals and communities at risk of flooding, including immediate support in the event of flooding as part of its flood recovery programme and flood resilience and awareness raising in the interests of people's health and wellbeing in a changing climate. It networks with local authorities, Scottish Water, SEPA, the insurance industry and many other organisations and local groups and individuals. It encourages the formation of, and provides training for local resilience groups including providing communities at risk with early flood warning apparatus. SFF is an active member of the Property Flood Resilience Delivery Group and delivers free home surveys and advice on property resilience measures. SFF supports traumatised people whose homes have flooded by holding recovery surgeries covering, for example, debt, insurance issues and avoiding pitfalls. SFF's mobile property resilience exhibition bus attends community events and locations on request.
