About

To empower women and promote equality and diversity we enabled and organised various events and activities to give women in Aberdeen opportunities to influence and participate. We continued to provide practical support to the Connections Women’s Centre, including access to vouchers for local shops to buy practical items such as food, toiletries, clothing and household items. Our Women’s History Group organised walk tours based on the book “Bringing Life to Aberdeen. A History of Maternity and Neonatal Services”. Our Reclaim the Night Group organised a march to raise awareness and to campaign to make our streets safer for women. In conjunction with Aberdeen Violence Against Women and Girls Partnership we produced and distributed an A6 information postcards throughout the city. We helped facilitate an Aberdeen Gender Inequality and Poverty event in Middlefield as part of a wider project carried out by the Scottish Women’s Budget Group on behalf of Aberdeen City Council.
