The charity is set up to raise awareness and interest in specific musical instruments, namely the banjo, mandolin and guitar. The aim is to teach members and non members to learn to play the instruments, to improve their standards, and to attend musical events such as festivals, summer schools, and join the fretted orchestra. The events are not purely educational. The social side is encouraged in order that attendees can discuss a wide range of musical matters as well.
