The charity is set up for the benefit of the community to be able to manage community land and assets, provide facilities for recreation being mindful of the environment, advance education & training, relieve poverty including provision of housing if necessary, encourage volunteering, preserve the community heritage, promote the wellbeing of residents and other projects of a charitable nature. The current activities of the charity include the provision of Community Fund grants to aid other island charitable organisations. the Training and Learning Fund grants available to individuals and groups within the community. Maintaining and funding the fabric and overheads of the YM community hall. Running the Community Bus Service. Prescription Delivery Service. Island Support Project through the Island Support Officer. Carbon Neutral Islands Project through the CNI Officer and CNI Support Officer.
