The primary purpose for which the Synod of the Methodist Church in Scotland is constituted is to advance the mission of the Church in the region, by working with the Circuit and offering them resources of finance, personnel and expertise, and by enabling them to engage with the wider society of the region as a whole. The District serves the Local Churches, the Circuit and the Conference in the support, deployment and oversight of the various ministries of the Church, and in programmes of training.
