Glasgow Disability Alliance is a disabled people's charity controlled by disabled members. GDA is a leading example of a community driving social change. We build on disabled people's strengths by: (1) Building individual capacity through holistic programmes of learning and development, wellbeing and digital and personal coaching, with support to navigate Social Care and related services and provision of welfare rights information, advice and representation. (2) Amplifying diverse voices, perspectives and priorities of disabled people including those marginalised including women, black and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, and supporting them to contribute lived experience and participate in dialogue, deliberation and collective advocacy to challenge inequality and exclusion. (3) Collaborating for change with local and national government , communities and third sector, by sharing insights, data and evidence to shape policy, services and solutions to poverty, inequality and exclusion.
