The Trust was established to allow the community to own their island. This has enabled both social and economic development on the island to ensure a sustainable future could be found. This is primarily achieved through the provision of affordable housing, business premises and land. This is also supported through investment in infrastructure and community assets such as pathways, an emergency landing helipad, maintenance of botanical gardens, and management of the local hotel.
