The Holiday Project

About

The Holiday Project was established in 1996, by a group of local residents who recognised the need for disadvantaged families to access an affordable respite holiday. The group became constituted and secured funding to purchase two caravans based in a holiday park in North Ayrshire and employ one part-time member of staff. The Project has grown since then and now owns two 8-berth caravans and one accessible 6-berth caravan, and employs two part time members of staff. Due to demand the Project expanded its service to the wider area of East Ayrshire and supports a small number of families from West of Scotland. The main aims set out by the charity is to improve health and wellbeing, improve social inclusion, improve financial planning and budgeting skills, improve family bonding and interaction and create positive happy memories.
