To promote care and education of children of school age in the Strathaven area who are in need of care during out of school hours and school holidays and to provide, or assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving their conditions of life and furtherance thereof but not otherwise. (b) to provide school care and educational and recreational activities.
