Achievement Bute
✓ Registered charity · SC027607About
Achievement Bute is a small, SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) which was set up in 1998 by parents and family members of children with disabilities living on the Isle of Bute, an island with around 6300 inhabitants off the west coast of Scotland. Responding to the lack of inclusive local options parents wanted to ensure that their children could be supported to live fun, ordinary and fulfilling lives in the local community. We seek to achieve this in a number of ways including: individual direct support for children with additional support needs and disabilities through our Care Service which is registered with the Care Inspectorate. a Confidential Counselling Service open to all island families with a child with a disability, which provides emotional support particularly at the time of diagnosis and seasons of transition. and a programme of inclusive children’s clubs and school holiday events open to all children on the Isle of Bute.
