Shapinsay Community Association

About

The Association is a charitable, unincorporated association. The purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution. All of the Association’s trustees are appointed or reappointed at our annual general meeting, which is held in September each year. Our purposes, as recorded in our constitution, are: - a) b) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Shapinsay by associating with local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants. To secure the establishment of a community centre and other community facilities and to co-operate with the local Statutory Authority in the maintenance and management of the Centre, for activities promoted by the Association as its constituent members in furtherance of the above objects.
