SWI Midlothian Federation is an umbrella group which supports 12 Institutes in Midlothian, including Edinburgh, and whose parent group is Scottish Women’s Institutes (SWI). The Federation provides support and advice to the Institute Committees including Committee training and other governance issues. The Federation Committee also organises classes led either by professionals or SWI judges but mainly by members handing on their skills to other members. The Federation also acts as a channel to pass on information to and from SWI and Institutes. Midlothian Federation also supports other Federations and organisations by providing judges for competitions and Shows. Social meetings as well as our 2 main business meetings are organised throughout the year to allow members from the Institutes across Midlothian to meet up with each other.
