Vision Mechanics

The charity was set up in 1995 to continue the work of the Edinburgh Puppet Company and promote puppetry in all its forms. These are not only indoor performances but also outdoor installations and pageants to give as wide an audience as possible the experience of puppet theatre. Vision Mechanics uses both traditional forms and technological innovation in these unique events. An important aspect of the charity is the training of puppeteers and makers, valuing the varied skills that free-lance artists, writers, musicians and technicians bring to the productions. Workshops give members of the public the opportunity to participate in the making of puppets.
