The charity's objectives are the preservation and protection of health of minority ethnic women and girls (12+), throughout the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and in other areas of Scotland, by providing support services which are to be strictly confidential, respectful of difference and delivered with a commitment to equal opportunities to women who are living with, recovering from, or at risk of mental health problems due to: ? Racism, Islamophobia and other discrimination. ? Oppressive cultural practices including forced marriage, honour abuse or female genital mutilation. and ? Torture, trafficking and other organised violence. We help to develop self-esteem and confidence and reduce barriers to integration such as isolation and depression. We use a holistic approach including counselling, complementary therapies, practical 1-2-1 support, in-home support, advocacy, and group therapies to maximise sustainable recovery.
