The charity is set up to provide educational advancement by provision of further & higher education bursaries, bursaries for those serving apprenticeships or the like and postgraduate scholarships. In addition, it is set up to provide grants for educational travel, grants for the disabled & prizes to secondary pupils. All bursaries, scholarships & grants are available only to those ordinarily resident in Troon, Loans & Southwoods. Bursaries & scholarships are awarded subject to established conditions & procedures. The charity provides application forms for completion & evidence of progress is required prior to payment of bursaries & scholarships. Other grants are dealt with on informal application. In addition, the charity is set up to provide funding for the Marr Educational Resources Centre. However, the future of the Centre is in some doubt.
