About

The Friends of St Cecilia's Hall & Museum is set up to support and promote Edinburgh University's St Cecilia's concert hall and museum of musical instruments. We liaise closely with hall and museum staff, providing support and assistance as requested. This includes publicising events at the hall and mueum, supporting attendance at events, support for the purchase and care of instruments in the museum collection. The Friends organises and presents concerts during the Edinburgh Festival, promoting St Cecilia's Concert Hall and promoting the use of instruments from the collection. The Friends prepares technical drawings of instruments in the collection, which are available for purchase to interested individuals and organisation worldwide. The Friends offers annual bursaries to students of early music. The Friends are responsible for the Pamela Jackson legacy for the provision of a postgraduate scholarship in early music at the University of Edinburgh.
