About

Clackmannanshire Heritage Trust was established to raise awareness of and interest in the county’s natural and built heritage assets in order to help protect, maintain and enhance them. It has sometimes acquired significant buildings and land, with a view to restoring and either retaining, leasing or selling them in order to ensure their sustainable preservation. The Trust has restored the Johnstone Mausoleum in Alva Old Kirkyard and Tullibody Old Kirk. It owns and maintains them and also Sauchie Tower. it continues to try to raise funds for its full restoration and a sustainable new use. The Trust opens its properties for guided tours on the annual Doors Open Days weekend, welcoming many visitors. It is dedicated to developing active engagement with other local heritage organisations, the local authority and the community, encouraging people to become involved in and supportive of its work and with a view to collaborating, where possible, on joint projects.
