The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, often referred to by the acronym REHIS, is the Professional Institute for Environmental Health in Scotland. The role of the Institute is to promote Environmental Health through education, training and qualifications for public benefit across Scotland. The Institute awards the qualification which allows a person to practice as an Environmental Health Officer (EHO) and Food Safety Officer (FSO) in Scotland. Under the Royal Charter and Scheme of Continuing Professional Development it awards Chartered Environmental Health Officer status to eligible members. The Institute is also a long-established awarding body in Scotland for a number of qualifications in Food Safety, HACCP, Food and Health, Control of Infection, Occupational Health and Safety, First Aid and Licensing. Courses leading to REHIS qualifications are available at REHIS Approved Training Centres based throughout Scotland.
