About

At its core the purpose of Sports Union is to enable clubs to delivery high quality training and student competition by assisting with fixture administration, empowering volunteers, coaches and officials through our comprehensive training and development programme. We advocate from the power of sport and actively look for opportunities to integrate our activities into the wider University, with a particular focus on active wellbeing and employability, as well as building belonging and community. Our advocacy work is strongly aligned with the goals of Edinburgh Sport, and supports their ambition to build capacity within facilities to improve the sport and active wellbeing offer at the University of Edinburgh. We continue to break down barriers to participation through our IM programme and events, as well as offering targeted interventions for traditionally underrepresented groups.
