Befriend A Child

About

Befriend a Child is a local charity supporting children and young people growing up in complicated life circumstances across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to help them overcome disadvantage and have the best chance in life to thrive. We support school aged children with our 1:1 and group befriending and mentoring programmes as well as hosting 3 youth clubs in our local communities. These sessions provide an opportunity for socially isolated youngsters to build confidence around their peers in a safe and fun environment. We also work with befriended and mentored children’s families who are struggling with the cost of living, isolation, abuse, mental health and a range of various circumstances where they need practical and focused support.
