About

The charitable objective is to exist to improve the conditions of the poor people of Perth by paying a weekly sum for their welfare. A royal charter dated 9th August 1569 directed that the endowments be administrated by the kirk sessions on behalf of the poor. Nowadays the elders of St. John’s Kirk and Letham St. Mark’s Church maintain this function. Beneficiaries must be over age 60 and live within the Burgh of Perth.
