From the charity purposes mentioned in point 1 the activities which the district routinely takes to meet its objectives are as follows: Awareness of rural issues is developed with agricultural visits and education on animal husbandry including competitions like stockjudging. Knowledge of machinery and handicrafts is enhanced through learning new skills and competitions such as agri-skills and tractor driving. Personal welfare and development is enhanced through singing, dancing, acting and speaking performances at concerts, drama and speechmaking. Mental and physical health is enhanced through sports and social games evenings Active citizenship is enhanced through charity work and progressing through the committee and office bearer positions. Various leisure activities, talks and visits are organised by the region to further the cultural education and training of young people. We also encourage our members to participate in district, regional and national events where possible.
