The Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation was established to hold various items of memorabilia used by Mr Harryhausen or created by him during his career as a Special Effects Artist in the Motion Picture Industry in England and in Hollywood, and to collect items which had influenced Mr Harryhausen in his creation of film stories and characters. The aim is to give a coherent picture of the special effects production method of Model Stop-Motion Animation especially the Dynamation technique (Stop-Motion Photography combined with live action) in the period between the film 'King Kong' and the film 'Clash of the Titans', which was Mr Harryhausen's final full scale film. The Foundation achieves this through the activities described above.
