East Ayrshire Women’s Aid supports women, children and young people who are experiencing, or have experienced, domestic abuse. We aim to support women, children and young people from the point of crisis right through to safety and independence. We support over 500 women, children and young people every year. We provide individual and group support, safe refuge accommodation and support to resettle and stay safe in a new home. Our support to children and young people aims to help them make sense of their experiences of domestic abuse and to move on in a constructive way, as well as meeting others with similar experiences and having fun. We provide learning and awareness raising opportunities for practitioners, young people and communities and play an active role in multi-agency responses to domestic abuse through the East Ayrshire Violence Against Women Partnership.
