Home-Start Perth and Kinross’s charitable purposes focus on safeguarding the mental and physical health and wellbeing of children up to 5 years of age whose families need support to overcome difficulties. These objects are pursued though delivery of services designed to support families with the challenges they encounter in parenting, to promote awareness around standards and approaches in childcare and the various local organisations which can assist families, and to help relieve ill health and need amongst children and parents. We co-ordinate the provision of peer support in family homes and familiar community settings across Perth & Kinross for parents who are referred for support with children of up to 5 years old including expectant parents. Referrals to Home-Start services are mainly made by healthcare professionals and other community groups which see families locally, although parents can self refer for support through our website.
