To advance education in, and to promote and increase the enjoyment and appreciation of, opera and thearts (including music, drama, dance, design, film, the written word) for public benefit. Through so doing,the CIO aims to improve the accessibility of opera as an art form, nationally and internationally, seeking toget more people into opera as audience members and/or participants.
