The street pastors are trained in advancing health, citizenship, community development, crime prevention, human rights,conflict resolution and the promotion of religious and racial harmony in the town. They work in conjunction with the local authority and the police to help to reduce the levels of crime in the town by patrolling the streets, particularly in the evenings and at night.
