Daraja aims to improve local governance in order to reduce poverty, ensuring that public resources bring much-needed improvements in services such as education and health. Daraja has published a number of research papers on local governance and service delivery, and uses local media to empower citizens to engage in planning, scrutinise the use of public money, and hold government to account.
