The charity was set up to build a memorial to those from India, Africa and the Caribbean who served in the First and Second World Wars. The Memorial is located at the top of Constitution Hill in London, by Hyde Park Corner. The Trust also produced an education pack in conjunction with Birmingham education services to explain the history of the reason for the Memorial.
