To promote, maintain, improve and advance the education of the public particularly by the encouragement of the Arts and Crafts and awareness of cultural history.To preserve for the benefit of the townspeople of Sedbergh in the district of South Lakeland in the county of Cumbria and of the nation at large the historical, architectural and constructional heritage in and around the district.
